National Model Worker Li Jie's speech

Hello everyone! I'm Li Jie, a mechanic at a Henan Mine Crane. It's an honor to share my work experiences and my understanding and insights into craftsmanship and the spirit of model workers with you today.

I grew up in an ordinary farming family and developed a strong interest in machinery from a young age. At 17, I began learning welding and mechanical repair. Afterward, I worked in construction in Tianjin for a year. Those tough years only fueled my determination, constantly reminding myself: if I continued working here, my future would be meaningless. By chance, just as Changyuan Crane was beginning to develop steadily, I joined the Henan mine Crane in 2010. Facing the complex crane parts and assembly processes, I felt both excited and nervous. But I always remembered my father's teaching: "Even without formal education, as long as you learn a skill well, you can still succeed." With this belief, I threw myself into my work. During the day, I followed my mentors closely, diligently learning every assembly step in the workshop, paying attention to every detail. At night, I studied professional books and blueprints, delving into the structural principles and assembly techniques of cranes. And so, day after day, year after year, I gradually accumulated solid professional knowledge and rich practical experience.

Throughout my career, I have faced countless challenges, but each one has become a stepping stone for my growth. I remember once, facing a project involving a 450-ton four-beam casting crane, which needed to adapt to a special metallurgical environment and simultaneously handle precision casting and heavy-duty lifting. Upon learning of this, I volunteered without hesitation, tackling the challenges head-on. I immediately formed a "Technical Innovation Team" with key departments such as the company's technical, process, quality control, and production departments. We conducted three-dimensional simulations of the design drawings, material properties, and production processes, anticipating risks such as welding deformation and assembly errors. We compressed the 120-day production cycle to 40 days, achieving acceptance on the first attempt, setting an industry record, earning high praise from the client, and establishing a good reputation for Henan Mine Crane within the industry. At that moment, I deeply understood the principle that "as long as you work hard, you can always achieve something," and it further strengthened my determination to continuously explore the field of mechanical equipment. On another occasion, a company automation project required an assembly precision of 2 millimeters. I led my team, working overtime and meticulously researching and refining the process. Through technical breakthroughs and repeated trials, we ensured the overall assembly precision was controlled within 0.20 millimeters, improving the overall machine performance.

Over the years, I have participated in numerous complex crane assembly projects, achieving some remarkable results. In 2019, I was awarded the "Changyuan City May Day Labor Medal," in 2020, the "Xinxiang City May Day Labor Medal," in 2023, the "Henan Province May Day Labor Medal," and in 2024, I was awarded the title of "Henan Province Model Worker." This year, I am especially honored to have been awarded the title of "National Model Worker" and to have attended the commendation ceremony at the Great Hall of the People. I feel extremely honored and also feel a great sense of responsibility. However, I know in my heart that these achievements are not solely due to my personal efforts, but rather the result of the entire team's collaboration, and a testament to the unity, hard work, and progress of all of us in the mine.

In my eyes, craftsmanship embodies wholehearted dedication to work, an unwavering pursuit of technical excellence, and strict quality control. Every time I assemble a crane, I treat it as crafting a fine work of art, striving for perfect tightening of every bolt and precise placement of every component. I understand that as a crucial piece of specialized equipment, the quality and safety of a crane directly impact the lives and property of its users, allowing no room for carelessness. The spirit of model workers, building upon craftsmanship, adds a sense of responsibility and dedication. As a model worker, one must not only possess exceptional skills but also set a leading example, motivating colleagues to progress together. As Secretary Li Liancheng, a National People's Congress representative from Puyang City, said, "One person's wealth is not true wealth; everyone's wealth is true wealth."

To pass on my skills and experience, within the company's strong mentorship atmosphere, I led my team in technological innovation and process optimization projects. Simultaneously, I actively organized skills training and technical exchange activities, cultivating numerous outstanding mechanical assembly talents for the company. To date, I have trained over 20 excellent employees into technical backbones. Seeing my apprentices make continuous progress in their work fills me with immense pride, because I know that our company's future has a stronger talent pool.

The manufacturing industry is developing rapidly, and Henan Mining is also constantly transforming and upgrading towards green, intelligent, customized, and networked development. This necessitates continuous skill improvement to keep pace with the company's development. I will firmly believe in my commitment, focusing on strengthening my political and theoretical studies and enhancing my crane-related professional skills to better serve the development of the crane equipment manufacturing industry and continuously contribute to the high-quality development of the crane industry and Changyuan City.

Finally, I would like to share a quote with you: "Labor is the most glorious, labor is the most beautiful, and development is the only way forward." Let us join hands to inherit and promote the spirit of labor, the spirit of model workers, and the spirit of craftsmanship, striving hard on the broad stage of the new era to create a more brilliant tomorrow for Changyuan!
